The debate of the greatest basketball player of all time is a popular one. Names such as Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, LeBron James, and Kobe Bryant are popular picks. Some other common names are Wilt Chamberlain, Larry Bird, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
During WNBA All-Star Weekend, the top players were asked to name their GOATs for the sport. Some listed both NBA and WNBA players while others listed just NBA players.
Sabrina Ionescu and Kelsey Plum were two of the All-Stars who chimed in and they had surprising answers. Ionescu picked Stephen Curry while Kelsey Plum picked LeBron James for the NBA. Yes, neither one of them picked Michael Jordan as their GOAT, which is a bit of an unexpected route.
Plum is one of a handful of WNBA players who picked LeBron James in the clip above, but Ionescu is the only one shown to select Curry. A few picked Diana Taurasi as their favorite in the WNBA, and that's not a surprise given her legendary status in the league.
It's certainly a lively discussion as the Kobe-Jordan and LeBron-Jordan debate has become a common theme for basketball fans for years. What's most surprising about Ionescu's answer is that it isn't Kobe Bryant. She had a special relationship with Bryant and she even maintains a special bond with Pau Gasol until now.
To be fair, there's no wrong answer in this clip as all of the players mentioned are arguably among the top 10 in the NBA.
