The Right Way to Clean Your Dishwasher for Optimal Efficiency

Clear the Drain:  Remove debris from the drain and clean around it using a toothbrush.

Clean Spray Arms:  Check and clear any clogs from spray arm holes using a toothpick or wire.

Run a Vinegar Cycle:  Place a cup of white vinegar on the top rack and run a hot water cycle to remove grease and odors.

Use Baking Soda:  Sprinkle baking soda in the bottom and run a short hot water cycle to further clean and deodorize.

Wipe Down Exterior:  Clean the exterior with a damp cloth and vinegar solution to remove residue.

Clean Door Seal:  Wipe the rubber door seal with vinegar to prevent mold and buildup.

Remove and Clean Filters: Follow your dishwasher’s manual to clean any removable filters.

Regular Maintenance:  Clean your dishwasher monthly and consider using a dishwasher cleaner or descaler for hard water.
